STUDY ONLINE
STUDY CERTIFICATE IIII IN FITNESS (SIS30315)
The College of Health & Fitness advocates face-to-face learning as the best form of learning for people who are wishing to work in the fitness industry. Unfortunately, this is not always possible so we also have a first-class e-learning platform so you can study online. Online courses offer our students access to their learning text, 1-on-1 support and students can even submit written material and engage with peers. Studying Cert 3 online is an increasingly popular solution for a whole host of reasons including;
Online study means that students avoid expensive travel costs and other non-studying elements.
Online courses allow students to learn at their own pace to suit personal preferences and other life commitments.
Students that study Certificate 3 online can continue their career development while working, or parenting.
Our online resources allow students to keep records of all interactions and documents online, which can then be used for further career development.
Students on the e-learning platform will still need access to a fitness facility to complete some of the practical requirements and fulfil the requirements of their logbook. They may still visit the college if they require a little extra help, but this program does provide the ultimate level of control. Conversely, those looking for a more traditional approach to learning can find part-time solutions. The College of Health & Fitness staff offers as much flexibility as possible, empowering students to complete the course in the best way for them.
HOW THE ASSESSMENTS WORK
Your assessments for this course will be carried out in various forms, including short and long answer questions, verbal assessments and also through practical tasks. Students that study Cert 3 online will need access to a gym and may need to prepare a short video for your practical assessments.
The theory assessments are submitted online, while the practical assessments are carried out in our classroom or in a commercial gym. Ideally, we will assess your practical knowledge in person; however, if this is not possible, you may record the assessment and forward to us.
JOB OPPORTUNITIES
Industry professionals are continuously on the lookout for new trainers, and we get calls weekly from businesses looking for our graduates. Our Cert 3 course includes the Gym Specialisation, and you can also add the Group Exercise or Aqua specialisation to broaden your skills:
GYM INSTRUCTOR
Our Certificate III in Fitness includes the Gym Specialisation, which will teach you how to instruct and support clients to practice different forms of exercise safely and effectively to improve their fitness and health. Among other things, you will learn about human anatomy, healthy eating, conducting fitness assessments, and how to administer First Aid. You will be able to specialise as a gym instructor in a variety of gym or fitness centre settings.
If you are interested in Group Exercise or Aqua, you can add that as a specialisation to your course (additional costs may apply).
GROUP EXERCISE INSTRUCTOR
Students who specialise in Group Exercise Instruction will learn how to deliver exercise sessions designed for participation by a group of clients with a mix of ages/fitness levels. Sessions may be freestyle, pre-choreographed or circuit style. Students will learn to instruct and demonstrate complete exercise sessions to groups with limited individual interaction.
AQUA EXERCISE INSTRUCTOR
Specialising as an Aqua Exercise Instructor will give you the skills to deliver water-based exercise sessions designed for participation by a group of clients. Sessions may be freestyle, pre-choreographed or circuit style. You will also develop the skills to rescue a client in distress.
